Recipes for Gingerbread House
Melt margarine or butter in saucepan. Add sugar and molasses. Sift dry ingredients
Add 4 cups of dry ingredients to margarine, sugar and molasses mixture. Blend well. Add
remaining cup of dry ingredients.
Roll out on lightly floured board. Cut into house shape. Cut 2 roof pieces, cut
2 side pieces, cut 2 front/back pieces.
Cut out window and/or door if desired.
Bake on lightly greased, or parchment paper lined cookie sheet at 375 degress for 12-15 minutes.
Yield-About 2 houses and several little gingerbread men.
Sift powdered sugar and cream of tartar. Combine all ingredients
and whip 8 minutes at high speed in electric mixer.
Keep bowl covered with damp cloth, preventing icing from
hardening while you work.
